J. Burns’ Pizza Shop wants everyone in Polk County to be able to use our website and visit our shops comfortably. This statement explains where we stand and how to reach us if something is not working for you.
Our Commitment
We are working to make this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.
Conformance Status
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target standard. This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which means some parts of the site may not yet fully meet the standard. We have not completed a formal third-party audit, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a finished box to tick.
What We Have Done
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
- Semantic headings and landmarks so pages can be navigated by structure
- Text and background colors chosen for readability
- Layouts that reflow for phones, tablets, and desktops
- Descriptive link text and clear labels on buttons and menus
Known Limitations
We want to be straightforward about the gaps we are aware of:
- Online ordering. Our ordering platform is operated by a third party. We do not control its code and cannot guarantee its accessibility. If you have trouble ordering online, please call the shop directly and we will gladly take your order by phone.
- Embedded maps and social content. Third-party embeds may not meet the same standard as the rest of the site.
- Older images. Some photographs added earlier may have incomplete alternative text. We are working through them.
Accessibility at Our Shops
All three J. Burns’ Pizza Shop locations offer wheelchair-accessible entry and seating, and counter service with staff happy to assist. If you need help placing an order, reading the menu board, or getting seated, just ask a team member.
